Founded in 1792 and still family owned today, Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana is one of the great historic houses of Sanlúcar de Barrameda and one of the last major Sherry producers to farm all of its own vineyards. Working exclusively with estate grown Palomino from the region’s prized albariza soils, the Hidalgo family produces wines that capture the salinity, freshness, and maritime character that define great Manzanilla. Best known for La Gitana, the house remains a benchmark for traditional, terroir driven Sherry.
